What are the results of storing E10 gasoline samples for 3 months?

According to the Vietnam National Petroleum Group ( Petrolimex ), E10 bioethanol fuel has been available at all Petrolimex-owned gas stations since May 25th.

Petrolimex's introduction of E10 bioethanol fuel nationwide earlier than the June 1, 2026 deadline stipulated in Circular No. 50/2025 aims to promote the use of biofuels, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and promote a green transition in the energy sector.

Before rolling it out across the entire system, Petrolimex conducted a pilot program to sell E10 bioethanol fuel at a number of gas stations starting in August 2025 to assess its practical operational feasibility, technical compatibility, and market feedback.

The pilot results showed stable supply and fuel quality meeting the prescribed technical requirements. In particular, testing the quality of E10 gasoline samples after 3 months in a sample storage container yielded results that met current technical standards.

Petrolimex stated that the quality of E10 gasoline is strictly controlled before being released to the market.

To launch the E10 gasoline business nationwide, Petrolimex has reviewed and upgraded its storage tanks, fuel pumps, transportation vehicles, quality management processes, and updated its biofuel usage manual to ensure full compliance with technical regulations and standards.

"The quality of E10 gasoline is strictly controlled before being released to the market," Petrolimex affirmed.

With its distribution network fully covered since May 25th, Petrolimex continues to affirm its pioneering role in implementing the directives of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in building a clean energy ecosystem; accompanying the national energy transition orientation, towards green growth and sustainable development.

Similarly, Vietnam Oil Corporation (PVOil) also officially distributed E10 gasoline throughout its system of nearly 1000 gas stations nationwide in May.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the two largest fuel distributors, Petrolimex and PVOil, currently account for approximately 70-75% of the country's retail fuel market share. To date, major enterprises have joined the transition, and according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the remaining units are also preparing plans to participate in the transition to E10 bioethanol fuel.
