Among other things, the Department recommends that businesses fully prepare the necessary conditions regarding infrastructure, storage tanks, pumps, supply sources, etc., to switch to selling entirely biofuels from June 1, 2026.
Currently, there are 289 gasoline stations in Da Nang city. Through a review, most units have proactively developed plans for conversion, tank cleaning, technical system inspection, and the allocation of supplies and personnel to be ready to sell E10 gasoline on schedule. Some units have also started selling bio-gasoline at their affiliated stations earlier than planned, such as PV Oil Central Vietnam Joint Stock Company, Petrolimex One Member Limited Company, and Hoa Khanh General Trading & Services Limited Company...
Fuel suppliers in the city are also actively implementing plans to replace conventional gasoline with biofuels. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of Hoa Khanh General Trading & Services Co., Ltd., one of the major petroleum import and export businesses in Central Vietnam, the company is currently producing E10 and E5 biofuels, blending them using automated technologies with carefully prepared, safe equipment, pipelines, and storage tanks. The company can produce 60 to 80 cubic meters of E10 gasoline per day, supplying approximately 15,600 cubic meters of biofuel to the market each month, equivalent to 15.6 million liters of gasoline. Introducing biofuels nationwide will help reduce pressure on imported conventional gasoline and lower prices.
At gas stations that started selling E10 bioethanol fuel early, many people have proactively switched to using E10 fuel. Ms. Mai Thu Trang (Hoa Xuan ward, Da Nang city) said she chose E10 bioethanol fuel because it is nearly 500 VND/liter cheaper than Ron95 gasoline, making it more economical. In addition, using bioethanol fuel helps reduce emissions and protect the environment, thus benefiting society as a whole.
From now until June 1st, the Da Nang City Department of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with businesses to comprehensively implement the sale of E10 gasoline, ensuring adherence to the planned schedule. Simultaneously, it will strengthen communication and raise public awareness regarding the use of biofuels. The Department will also intensify inspections and supervision of retail gasoline stations and resolutely handle any business practices that do not comply with the planned schedule; acts of hoarding, creating supply shortages, arbitrarily suspending sales without justifiable reasons, or arbitrarily increasing prices unreasonably.
