Giving is forever
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quan, born in 1986 in Binh Han ward, is an outstanding and active volunteer of the Hai Duong City Red Cross Society. The opportunity that made him interested in and involved in humanitarian activities was when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out in the city in 2020.
Mr. Quan said that before, he was caught up in the whirlwind of work, so he paid little attention to everything around him. When the epidemic broke out and activities were interrupted due to quarantine, Mr. Quan had time to learn and reflect on life. Seeing the anti-epidemic force struggling, he also volunteered to help and support. From transporting agricultural products to help people consume to supporting the collection of test samples, Mr. Quan was always enthusiastic and proactive. "Although that time was stressful and difficult, I felt relieved. From then on, I realized that it is not necessary to have a full life to be happy and joyful, but sometimes helping others makes the spirit more comfortable and pleasant," Mr. Quan shared.
When the epidemic was under control and the new normal was returned, Mr. Quan still spent time on volunteer activities. Gradually, participating in and responding to humanitarian movements became an important part of his life. Not only directly contributing and supporting, with his personal reputation, he also called on relatives and friends to join hands to help those in difficult circumstances. He always kept in mind that doing good deeds and good things must come from the heart, so that time and money are not too important.

With 10 years of dedication and trust as a leader of the local humanitarian movement, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, President of the Tu Ky District Red Cross Society, has left many impressions. Before working at the District Red Cross Society, Ms. Huong had a long time working in the field of culture and information. In the past, Ms. Huong also participated in volunteer activities but not regularly. It was not until she changed jobs that she had the opportunity to devote herself to charity and humanitarian work.
Tu Ky area has many characteristics when the number of difficult circumstances in need of help is still high while the resources available for support are relatively limited compared to other localities. However, humanitarian and charity work in the district is always vibrant and highly appreciated. This result is not only the collective effort but also thanks to Ms. Huong's dynamism, enthusiasm and responsibility in mobilizing and donating. Ms. Huong does not hesitate or fear difficulties in each situation that needs support. Ms. Huong said that everyone has compassion, but if it is only in thought but not in action, it is difficult to sacrifice personal interests to contribute and dedicate to society.

Humanitarian work always has profound social significance and impact. Humanitarian and charitable activities not only help alleviate the loss and disadvantage of disadvantaged people but also demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and mutual love. In Hai Duong, humanitarian work is carried out through many rich, diverse and practical activities. Campaigns, subsidies for the disadvantaged or meaningful community programs have spread love, noble gestures and the responsibility of each person towards the community and society.
Young people with a passion for volunteering in Nam Sach district have connected and established the Nam Sach Youth Volunteer Club. Although each person has a different situation and job, when under the same roof of volunteering, everyone wants to do their best to support those in difficult circumstances.
For the past 9 years, the club has regularly organized weekly charity porridge cooking and haircuts for poor patients at the Nam Sach District Medical Center and Hai Duong Mental Hospital. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuong, Chairman of the Club, affirmed: “Kindness is the thread that connects us together to spread the humanitarian spirit. Some people, after receiving help, become active volunteers. Some contribute money, some contribute labor, so no one is afraid of hardship or suffering.”
Any support and sharing with the disadvantaged, the weak, and the unfortunate in society, no matter how small or large, is worth noting. From a good deed, it will build a humanitarian journey, connecting people together. According to the leader of the Provincial Red Cross Society, in recent times, charitable and humanitarian activities in the province have taken place regularly and continuously. Especially during the Humanitarian Month, all levels, sectors, organizations, and individuals have actively implemented many activities for the community, creating a prominent mark in the province's mutual love and support movement.
During the 6 years of implementing the Humanitarian Month, the Red Cross Associations at all levels in the province have mobilized more than 50 billion VND, supporting more than 62,000 poor and disadvantaged people; organizing humanitarian medical examinations and providing free medicine to more than 13,000 people. In addition, the associations at all levels have supported and donated 353 houses, organized 17 zero-VND markets for the poor in the province...
