High-speed railway construction needs to be associated with technology transfer, mastery and development.

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the morning of May 14, at the Government Office, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha received Mr. Tran Tu Xuong, General Director of China Construction Engineering Corporation (CCECC), a member of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC).

At the reception, the Deputy Prime Minister said that developing modern, high-speed railways is one of the strategic tasks, identified by the Party and State of Vietnam as a top priority in the current period.

Within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Vietnam and China, the development of a modern, high-speed railway system - including a railway connecting the two countries - has been placed on the agenda by senior leaders of the two Parties and two States, demonstrating strong political determination.

Vietnam welcomes the interest and proactive cooperation of Chinese enterprises, including CCECC, with Vietnamese enterprises to have enough competitiveness in technology, quality, price... when participating in investing and building modern, high-speed railway lines in Vietnam.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in the process of developing a modern, high-speed railway system, Vietnam wishes to share lessons, experiences and practices from China. Chinese enterprises such as CCECC play an important role in transferring and supporting Vietnamese enterprises to master and jointly develop modern railway technologies.

"Vietnam does not discriminate between state-owned or private enterprises in investing and developing modern, high-speed railway projects. What is important is the capacity, technological level and ability to transfer technology to Vietnamese enterprises to own and develop in accordance with international regulations and practices," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Emphasizing that cooperation between Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises will contribute to building sustainable friendship between the two countries, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that CCECC orient long-term investment and business, share benefits together, and contribute to the development of Vietnam's industrial ecosystem and railway construction.

Thanking the Deputy Prime Minister for taking the time to meet him, Mr. Tran Tu Xuong reported on some outstanding high-speed railway projects that CCECC has implemented in China and some other countries; expressing his interest and desire to participate in high-speed railway projects in Vietnam, the railway connecting Vietnam and China.

Accepting the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the leaders of CCECC committed that when selected to participate in Vietnam's modern railway projects, they will ensure high standards, good quality, and on-time progress; and closely cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises in sharing, transferring, mastering, and developing technology in Vietnam's industrial ecosystem and railway construction.
