NDO - Visiting and working with the 12th Army Corps stationed in Ninh Binh province, on the morning of December 18, President Luong Cuong requested the 12th Army Corps to constantly strive, overcome difficulties, and excellently complete its tasks, worthy of being the "elite, compact, strong" Army Corps, the main force, and strategic mobility of the Army, with comprehensive quality and new strength, to set an example in all aspects for agencies and units throughout the Army.

Reporting to the President and the working delegation on the unit's situation, Major General Truong Manh Dung, Commander of the Corps, said that the 12th Corps was established on November 21, 2023, and is the first main, strategic mobile Corps of our Army to be reorganized in the direction of "refined, compact, strong" towards modernization; with a larger scale and force; equipped with many new, modern weapons and vehicles, stronger firepower with the core political task of training, combat readiness and performing other important, sudden tasks when assigned by the Ministry of National Defense.
After its establishment, the Corps quickly stabilized, made efforts, overcame difficulties, united, unified, organized and implemented comprehensive tasks, focused on key points, completed tasks well, and many tasks were completed excellently. In particular, the Corps always strictly maintained the training regime and discipline for the subjects; actively innovated training content and methods; focused on technical and tactical training, task-based training; strengthened and innovated testing methods to assess the actual training results of the units; the test results of the subjects and subjects were 100% satisfactory, with over 80% good and excellent; organized training and live-fire drills for the subjects close to actual combat, with good results.

Speaking at the meeting, the President pointed out that the 12th Army Corps has affiliated units with a long tradition, many achievements in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; inheriting the glorious tradition of the 1st Army Corps (Quyet Thang Army Corps) and the 2nd Army Corps (Huong Giang Army Corps), the first two main army corps of the Vietnam People's Army, established to participate in the decisive-strategic battle, liberating the South, unifying the country and making many very important contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The President affirmed that over the past year, the 12th Corps has made many efforts to build the unit and carry out its tasks. The 12th Corps has thoroughly grasped and grasped its tasks, focused on leading and directing agencies and units to quickly stabilize their organization, staffing, solidarity and unity; proactively coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to promptly develop and perfect new combat plans, in accordance with the functions, tasks and deployment of the forces; maintained strict implementation of regularity, discipline management, improved training quality, combat readiness and enhanced the unit's combat capability.

In particular, the 12th Corps successfully organized the largest-ever joint military and service exercise, witnessed by leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, and localities (at the end of December 2023); the results of the exercise affirmed the correct policy of the Party, the strength of the Vietnam People's Army, and the Corps after less than 1 month of establishment. In 2024, the 12th Corps continued to successfully complete the task of participating in the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; participating in the Hanoi city defense exercise in 2024, ensuring absolute safety, and the overall strength and mobility were increasingly improved.
The work of building a clean and strong Party organization, building a strong and comprehensive "exemplary" unit has been taken care of, carried out proactively, closely, and effectively. Logistics and technical work has been maintained in a disciplined manner, ensuring a good life for officers and soldiers and training tasks, and combat readiness. The solidarity and close relationship between the army and the people in the area where the Corps is stationed has been maintained and implemented better and better, with many good, creative, and effective ways of doing things.

In order to successfully complete the tasks with increasingly high requirements of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new period, the President requested the 12th Army Corps to focus on leading and directing the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 11th Army Party Congress. In particular, the focus is on the Party's resolutions and strategies, the State's laws on military, national defense, and national defense. The President also requested the 12th Army Corps to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Homeland Protection Strategy in the new situation in the spirit of the 13th Central Committee Resolution 8; proactively develop and perfect combat plans according to the new deployment; improve mobility, respond to and effectively handle non-traditional security situations and challenges, contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national construction and development.
The Corps also needs to focus on building strong, comprehensive, "exemplary, exemplary" agencies and units; maintain and strengthen the absolute, direct leadership in all aspects of the Party, the centralized, unified management of the State over the Army; build clean, strong Party committees and organizations, exemplary in politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres.
