On the morning of May 19, inspecting the construction progress of the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh District, Hanoi , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the urgent completion of the Center to celebrate and serve the exhibition of the country's achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). Accompanying him were leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, and Hanoi City.

The National Exhibition Fair Center in Dong Anh District is a national key project in the field of trade and services, replacing the old Exhibition Center in Giang Vo. The Center started construction at the end of August 2024, with a scale of 90 hectares, in the top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world; it is predicted to be a "new wonder" of the Capital, initiating a vibrant "Expo" economy , comparable to global trading centers.

The project is located at the Northeastern gateway of Hanoi, the center of important traffic arteries including roads, aviation and metro that have been planned. The indoor exhibition hall is the centerpiece of the complex, divided into 9 sub-areas with an area of over 10,000m2/sub-area and the main hall is over 7,000m2.

Supporting the indoor exhibition space are modernly equipped functional facilities, meeting the needs of organizing exhibitions in all fields and industries. Surrounding the exhibition area are lakes and trees, creating a fresh outdoor relaxation space.

In conjunction with the main exhibition building are 4 outdoor exhibition parks that accommodate large-scale events, exhibitions, festivals, cultural tourism or multiple activities taking place at the same time, with a total area of 20.6 hectares - the second largest in the world and the largest in Asia.

Inspecting the construction site of the National Exhibition Center, the Prime Minister was delighted with the urgent and exciting construction atmosphere; highly appreciated the efforts of ministries, branches, Hanoi city and Vingroup Corporation. After just over 8 months of construction, the large-scale, modern and internationally-standard Exhibition Center has emerged, is in the final stages and will be completed as committed.

In which, the remaining items such as the exterior roof, exterior glass doors, indoor exhibition area, electromechanical system and auxiliary items are expected to be completed to welcome and serve the Exhibition of socio-economic achievements celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day.

Working with ministries, branches and units right at the construction site, the Prime Minister requested to urgently speed up the construction progress of the Center to welcome and serve the Exhibition of the country's achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The Prime Minister directed that in the long term, the National Exhibition Fair Center in Co Loa, the hometown of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, should be developed into a new symbol of Hanoi and the whole country in terms of scale, culture, architecture, structure, environmental landscape, and governance; demonstrating national stature, worthy of historical and cultural traditions, especially demonstrating the country's achievements after 40 years of national renovation; a center of culture, art, tourism, and services; a place to converge and develop cultural and entertainment industries...

Build the Center into a regional and world-class fair and exhibition center, through which people can enjoy the fruits of development, cultural and artistic values of the country and the world; a place to nationalize human civilization in our country, internationalize national cultural identity to send to friends around the world.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that along with completing the main items of the Center, it is necessary to synchronously complete auxiliary works, services, and accompanying utilities; exploit all the space of the Center; build and synchronously connect infrastructures for transportation, electricity, water, telecommunications, and other modern infrastructures; ensure environmental landscape...

The Prime Minister requested that the construction of the Center must be basically completed by the end of July 2025. The Prime Minister assigned Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh to direct the implementation of the project; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop a schedule, assign "clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear progress, clear results, clear authority," continue to perfect the Project to organize the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, ensuring that all ministries, branches and localities participate in the exhibition of achievements; organize cultural, artistic activities, major shows, considering this as the starting event for major cultural events in the future.

The Prime Minister agreed in principle on specific mechanisms and policies for the National Exhibition and Fair Center. If necessary, foreign consultants with capacity and qualifications in organizing large events can be hired. Vietnam also needs to have a team to acquire technology and knowledge; emphasizing, "only discuss doing, no backtracking", "promised must be done, committed must be implemented, implemented must have results, specific products"./.
