Many bright spots

A Lưới 2 commune was established by merging four administrative units: A Lưới town, Quảng Nhâm, A Ngo, and Hồng Bắc communes. It has a natural area of ​​97.62 km² and a population of 20,496 people. The commune has a high population density and is a hub for many activities in the fields of culture, education, health, finance, banking, and commercial services of the former A Lưới district. This provides an important foundation for future urban economic development.

The commune Party Committee has 46 subordinate Party organizations. During the past term, the Party Committee implemented comprehensive and effective work in building and rectifying the Party and the political system. Socio-economic infrastructure was strengthened, the urban and rural landscapes underwent significant changes, and older communes like A Ngo achieved the new rural standard, while Quang Nham and Hong Bac communes approached the new rural criteria.

The economic structure has shifted in line with the orientations of each region. The restructuring of the agricultural sector has seen positive changes and achieved many important results. Notably, A Luoi 2 commune has focused on developing agricultural production in a safe and sustainable direction, linked to the value chain. The application of scientific and technical advancements and mechanization in agricultural production is increasingly emphasized, leading to the formation and development of organic farming models and VietGAP standards. Programs connecting supply and demand and supporting the consumption of agricultural products, specialties, and handicrafts of the commune have been effectively implemented. The quality of specialty products, OCOP products, and key products with competitive advantages of the commune is constantly improving.

Urban planning and development have been implemented effectively. The general construction plans for the former communes of Quang Nham, Hong Bac, and A Ngo have been completed. Key transportation infrastructure projects serving the socio-economic development of the communes have received significant investment from National Target Programs (NTPs). The awareness and understanding of all segments of the population regarding the development of a civilized urban lifestyle, ensuring construction order, environmental sanitation, urban aesthetics, and traffic safety on inner-city roads have improved.

Striving to achieve New Rural Area standards by 2030

For the 2025-2030 term, the Party Committee of A Luoi 2 commune has set forth 5 main targets, 6 key tasks, 2 priority programs, 8 groups of solutions, and 3 breakthroughs. Accordingly, the First Party Congress of A Luoi 2 commune, for the 2025-2030 term, held on August 5th, identified the goal of strongly promoting the potential, advantages, resources, cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities and the strength of national unity; developing the economy, improving people's lives, and striving to become a New Rural Area standard commune by 2030.

Specifically, the goals set are to strive for an average annual growth rate of 10% in budget revenue, an average annual growth rate of 10% in the total value of products in the area, an average per capita income of 105 million VND/person/year by 2030 (an increase of 187.5% compared to 2025), and to ensure that the commune has no more poor households by 2030.

The Party Committee has set forth key tasks such as strengthening Party building and the political system, streamlining the apparatus, reducing staffing levels, improving governance efficiency, and creating new spaces for socio-economic development. It also aims to shift the economic structure in the right direction, linked to in-depth innovation in growth models, prioritizing the development of agriculture as a key economic sector, developing trade, tourism, and services into important economic sectors, and investing in the comprehensive development of socio-economic infrastructure, leveraging existing potential, strengths, and advantages to build a commune that meets the standards of a New Rural Area by 2030.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of A Luoi 2 commune, affirmed: In the next term, the commune will continue to integrate and implement synchronously and effectively the National Target Programs to improve the material and spiritual lives of the people, ensuring that no one is left behind. Attention will be paid to allocating resources for investment in the development of science and technology infrastructure, digital transformation, and innovation. Poverty reduction efforts will be intensified to eliminate poverty by 2030. In particular, emphasis will be placed on developing regional planning and detailed regional planning. Capital will be concentrated on continuing investment in key transitional projects to ensure their rapid commissioning and utilization, maximizing investment efficiency and avoiding waste. The commune will also improve the transportation system, sidewalks, lighting, green spaces, and develop infrastructure in the central area of ​​the commune. Priority will be given to investing in the synchronous development of infrastructure in particularly difficult villages that have not yet met the criteria for New Rural Development. Invest in building transportation systems connecting to tourist destinations and key agricultural production areas.

In the coming term, the locality will continue to promote administrative reform, creating a transparent, equitable, and open investment and business environment to attract investment, facilitating the genuine development of private economic sectors, people, and businesses, becoming a driving force for socio-economic development and improving the quality of life for the people.
