Recently, a series of prototypes of the Mitsubishi Pajero 2026 have been frequently caught testing on the road. This has sparked speculation about a completely new generation of Pajero, which could be launched in 2026.
Immediately after the leak, the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV quickly became the focus of the car enthusiast community and the digital design world. Famous designer @kelsonik shared a sketch of the 2026 Pajero based on the latest Nissan Patrol model so that users can visualize it more clearly. Because there are rumors that the new Pajero will share the chassis, even the overall design with the Nissan Patrol.

Based on the sketch, it can be seen that the 2026 Pajero has a large, honeycomb grille that is typical of Mitsubishi, combined with a modern "T-shape" vertical headlight cluster. This design is reminiscent of Volvo's style, but is "varied" to be more angular and powerful. The front bumper of the car has also been redesigned with large air intakes, integrated with fog lights on both sides to increase the muscular and aerodynamic look. The embossed hood and wide wheel arches further emphasize the characteristic off-road character.
The bodywork in the sketch is almost identical to the Patrol's design, including the door glass, mirror clusters, handles and wheels. The rear end has not been revealed, but will likely have new LED taillights and a sturdy rear bumper, suitable for the high-end off-road SUV positioning.

Many speculate that the new Pajero will be developed on a separate chassis shared from the Triton pickup (L200), using gasoline and diesel engines and possibly having hybrid or PHEV options. Others believe that the car will use a monocoque chassis like the Outlander to facilitate electrification, however, this is said to be inconsistent with the Pajero's off-road DNA.
If the above rumors come true, Pajero 2026 will not only mark the return of a legend, but also open a new era for Mitsubishi in the modern off-road SUV segment.
