On the morning of March 20th, under the chairmanship of Comrade Le Duc Giang, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Council for evaluating communes achieving new rural standards, advanced new rural standards, and model new rural standards held a conference to evaluate communes achieving new rural standards and model new rural standards in 2024.
Overview of the conference.
The conference was attended by representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and units that are members of the Council for evaluating communes achieving New Rural Area standards, advanced New Rural Area standards, and model New Rural Area standards in Thanh Hoa province.
According to the assessment report on the dossiers and the level of achievement of the criteria for new rural communes and advanced new rural communes, this time there are 2 new rural communes: Truong Lam and Tan Truong (Nghi Son town) and 1 model new rural commune: Nga Hai (Nga Son).
The head of the Provincial Rural Development Program Coordination Office reported on the results of the assessment of dossiers and the level of achievement of criteria for new rural communes and model new rural communes.
At the conference, the members of the Appraisal Council reviewed the dossiers, assessed the strengths and weaknesses, and identified areas for improvement for each criterion. Simultaneously, 100% of the council members voted to recommend that Truong Lam and Tan Truong communes (Nghi Son town) be recognized as achieving New Rural Area standards, and Nga Hai commune (Nga Son district) as achieving model New Rural Area standards in the outstanding field of education .

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Le Duc Giang highly appreciated the efforts of localities and sectors in implementing the New Rural Development plan in the past period; he acknowledged the efforts of the Coordinating Office of the New Rural Development Program and the departments and sectors that have closely coordinated in the process of evaluating and selecting communes, and preparing dossiers to propose recognition as achieving New Rural Development standards and model New Rural Development.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Thanh Hoa has achieved many outstanding results in the process of building new rural areas and is among the leading provinces nationwide in the number of districts and communes meeting new rural area standards at all levels.

To implement the New Rural Development plan in the coming period, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Office for Coordinating the New Rural Development Program to regularly monitor the issued plans; and to coordinate with localities to continue implementing the New Rural Development task. Because, despite changes in administrative units at the district and commune levels, the New Rural Development task remains ongoing, "having a starting point but no end point."
For the communes that have just been recognized as achieving New Rural Area standards and model New Rural Area standards in this round, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee instructed the Office for Coordinating the New Rural Area Construction Program to urgently coordinate with the localities to complete the dossiers for submission to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for recognition of the communes that have met the New Rural Area and model New Rural Area criteria.
