Xiaomi launches foldable smartphones: Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and Xiaomi MIX Flip

Xiaomi recently held its annual CEO Lei Jun's keynote address at ShouGang Stadium and launched its new Xiaomi MIX product line: the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and Xiaomi MIX Flip, two foldable smartphones featuring Summilux cameras co-developed with Leica.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 has achieved several technological breakthroughs in its manufacturing process. The improved 3-layer, 5-surface motherboard design, combined with wide-area soldering technology, results in highly precise solder joints, significantly improving the stability and durability of the circuit.

Superior performance is achieved thanks to the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and an improved 3D cooling system with an area of ​​up to 11,912 ^mm² . Advanced vapor chamber technology quickly dissipates heat, which is then evenly distributed through multiple layers of graphite, preventing significant heat buildup. Powerful performance combined with excellent cooling ensures sustained performance even during demanding tasks.

In terms of network functionality, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 is equipped with a robust antenna architecture, including four industry-leading low-frequency receiving antennas and four Xiaomi Surge T1 signal booster chips. This is integrated with the Xiaomi HyperOS network system to ensure seamless communication in various locations and environments. The external display is also deeply integrated with the "Human x Car x Home" smart ecosystem. AI applications, Xiaomi EV, and Mi Home are tailored to the external display scenario, allowing users to manage daily personal tasks and monitor the status of Xiaomi EV and smart home devices.

This is one of the few foldable devices equipped with the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. To ensure overall performance, Xiaomi has redesigned the 3D cooling system for the Xiaomi MIX Flip: a 3,500 mm² VC area with a unique "staircase" design helps dissipate heat quickly from the SoC; heat is evenly distributed through the dual-layer graphite on the hinge, preventing heat buildup. Xiaomi's SU7 "aerogel" thermal insulation material is used near the inner display surface of the "staircase" structure, effectively preventing heat transfer to the screen and improving the user experience when touching the screen.

The Xiaomi MIX Flip uses Xiaomi's composite materials, providing strength and durability. The middle frame uses 6M42 aluminum alloy, similar to the MIX Fold 4, doubling its strength; Xiaomi Shield Glass and ultra-thin UTG flexible glass protect both the outer and inner screens.

Equipped with Xiaomi x Leica's next-generation Summilux lens, this product's main camera utilizes a Light Fusion 800 high dynamic range sensor. It also features a unique Leica 47mm floating telephoto lens in a compact, foldable device with a minimum focusing distance of 9 cm.
