Promoting green growth and climate management policy in Australia

Continuing the working program in Australia, Comrade Trinh Viet Hung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of a number of departments, branches, sectors and enterprises of the province have just worked with Mr. Matt Kean, Chairman of the Climate Change Management Agency (under the Australian Ministry of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water) and departments in charge of carbon credit markets and policy development of the Climate Change Management Agency.

Thai Nguyen is striving to promote the green transformation process in the province with three main goals: Greening economic sectors; greening lifestyles and promoting sustainable consumption; greening the transformation process on the principles of equality, inclusiveness, and enhancing resilience.

The Provincial Party Secretary wishes to learn about Australia's solutions, models, management structures, and preferential policies for investors in the green growth sector so that they can be applied to Thai Nguyen's practice, effectively taking advantage of the local potential and strengths in the transformation process.

Thai Nguyen will create opportunities to connect with private investors from Australia, interested in areas such as: Industrial production; human resource training; tea planting and processing..., aiming at green, sustainable growth and developing the carbon credit market to serve the Government 's goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. To achieve these goals, Thai Nguyen is striving to implement a dual transformation strategy: Green transformation, digital transformation of the local economy.

Organizing a promotion and exchange program to promote green growth cooperation in Australia is an opportunity for Thai Nguyen to continue innovating technology, improving the competitiveness of enterprises and moving towards a green economy and sustainable development in the future.

Historically, the Hunter Valley has been a hub for coal mining, heavy manufacturing and resource-intensive industries, forming the backbone of both the regional and national economy. The renewable energy transition is not simply about closing coal mines or reducing emissions, but requires a strategic approach to industrial diversification, investment in clean energy sources and workforce transition programs to ensure the region remains economically competitive.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Boris Novak - Co-leader of Hunternet Business Association, introduced the Business Association, an organization of more than 200 member companies, operating in the fields of infrastructure, asset management, energy, resources and advanced manufacturing supply chains. He also shared about the process and experience of implementing a number of typical projects for sustainable development and clean energy conversion here; the difficulties and challenges in practice that need to be persistently resolved; introduced the Green Hydrogen technology that has been applied at Hunter since 2021...
