10 best universities in the world for Business and Economics

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) is the best school for Business and Economics training globally in 2024, according to THE rankings.

On October 26, the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking organization announced the world's best university rankings for Business and Economics in 2024. Schools were evaluated based on data on the following subjects: Business and Management, Accounting and Finance, Economics and Econometrics.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford University retained their top two positions, as they did last year. Peking University (China) rose five places and was the only new entrant to the top 10. The UK and the US each have four representatives in the top 10 this year, while China has two.

In the top 50, the US has the most representatives with 19 schools. The UK and China ranked second with 6 and 5 schools respectively.

This year's THE Best University Rankings for Business and Economics includes 909 schools, up from 870 last year.

The ranking criteria include 18 indicators, divided into 5 groups. Of which, the research environment has the largest weight (31.6%), followed by teaching quality (30.4%), research quality (25%), internationality (9%), income and industrial patents (4%).

To be ranked, schools must have at least 200 scientific articles published in the past five years, and at least 5% of their teaching staff or 50 people must teach business and economics subjects.

This year, Vietnam has 4 schools in this ranking. Of which, Ton Duc Thang University has the highest rank, in the top 500. The remaining training institutions are Duy Tan University, Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Times Higher Education is one of the three most prestigious university ranking organizations in the world, along with Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
