On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Investment Project to build a bridge over the Thai Binh River and the access road of the Ring Road I section from Provincial Road 391 to Provincial Road 390C and the Gia Loc commune bypass to create connectivity and reduce the load on National Highway 37.
The trillion bridge
The project to invest in the construction of the Thai Binh River overpass and access road on the beltway I section from provincial road 391 to provincial road 390C has a total investment of more than 1,228 billion VND. The project implementation location is in Tan Hung ward and Nam Dong ward.

The groundbreaking of the bridge and approach road has brought new expectations to gradually complete the old Hai Duong City Ring Road I. Thereby expanding the urban space and connecting communes and wards, contributing to the socio-economic development of the West Hai Phong area in particular and Hai Phong city in general.
Regarding the scope of investment, the section from the intersection between Vo Van Kiet Avenue and Provincial Road 391 to Provincial Road 390C is about 2.5 km long. The section at the beginning of the bridge in Tan Hung Ward alone is about 0.437 km long.
The highlight is the Thai Binh River Bridge with a length of about 0.663 km with a structure of reinforced concrete and permanent prestressed reinforced concrete. The bridge cross-section is 22.5 m.

The section of the bridgehead on Nam Dong ward connecting with provincial road 390C is about 1.4 km long and is invested in phases according to the cross-section scale of half of the left side of the route, including an 11 m wide road surface and 2 dirt shoulders on both sides, each side is 0.5 m wide.
The section from Provincial Road 391 to Thai Binh River Overpass is about 0.437 km long, with a 22 m wide road surface, a median strip, and 0.5 m wide earthen shoulders on each side. The approach road is a transitional road connecting the beginning of Thai Binh River Overpass to meet traffic organization requirements.
The project will also invest in the construction of intersections, drainage, signaling systems, lighting and other related infrastructure.

Over 600 billion VND bypass route
The project of bypassing National Highway 37 through the old Gia Loc town (the section connecting Thong Nhat bridge, National Highway 37 with the old Hai Duong city belt road I) is implemented in Gia Loc commune and Thach Khoi ward.
With a total investment of more than 612 billion VND, the project is expected to form a connecting route from the center of Gia Loc commune to the old Hai Duong city belt road I and provincial roads in the area (provincial road 393, provincial road 395, Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway...).

The starting point of the route intersects with National Highway 37 at km 45+633 (on the right side of the route) at the beginning of Thong Nhat Bridge. The end point connects with Hai Duong City's Ring Road I (old). The total length of the route sections is 5.402 km.
Section 1 (Gia Loc commune bypass) roadbed is 18 m wide, has a median strip, length 3.104 km, intersection scope with provincial road 395, roadbed is 28 m wide, length 226 m.

Section 2 of the route connecting section 1 with the old Hai Duong city beltway I has a roadbed width of 31 m and a length of 1.064 km.
This project will also synchronously construct intersections, lighting, signaling systems, drainage systems, sidewalks and other related infrastructure; organize traffic safety in accordance with the investment scale.
The above 2 projects were previously approved for investment by the People's Council of Hai Duong province and started construction more than 1 month after the province's merger. They are also 2 of 9 projects selected by the People's Committee of Hai Phong city to start construction on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.

With a total investment of more than 1,800 billion VND, the two projects are expected to create favorable conditions, unlock potential and open up new development space for Hai Phong, especially in the western area of the city.
