Zalopay allows QR scanning for payment in 5 Asian countries

From August 25, Vietnamese tourists will be able to scan QR codes to pay in the above 5 countries via the Zalopay application. This is a strategic step that not only affirms the technological capacity of a “made in Vietnam” product, but also realizes the aspiration of Vietnamese technology accompanying Vietnamese people to go out into the world .

By the end of 2025, Zalopay is expected to open an additional feature allowing international customers to pay QR in Vietnam from Visa and Mastercard cards issued in any country, expanding global payment connections.

Previously, since March 2025, Zalopay has become Vietnam's pioneering payment application, allowing users to scan QR codes to pay at more than 120,000 stores in the NETS and SGQR networks in Singapore.

The QR payment scanning feature is considered an “essential product” in the payment ecosystem. But with Zalopay, this feature is constantly upgraded and enhanced to bring a more optimal experience to users: fast and smooth scanning speed, simple operations, intuitive interface.

That journey is reinforced by strategic cooperation steps: In 2023, Zalopay becomes one of the first payment platforms to integrate VietQR into the QR ecosystem; In 2024, expand comprehensive cooperation with VNPay . These steps affirm Zalopay's consistent philosophy: banks and fintech are not competitors, but allies with the same goal of digitization, towards a cashless society.

Thanks to the spirit of open cooperation, Zalopay has built trust and consensus from domestic and foreign partners, becoming one of the pioneering payment applications in Vietnam that allows scanning all types of QR: from bank QR, e-wallet QR, VNPay-QR to international QR.

In terms of security, Zalopay deploys multiple layers of “hidden protection” such as warnings when transferring money to risky accounts or requiring re-confirmation when detecting unusual operations. This safety and convenience has motivated 9/10 users to return to using the QR scanning feature on the application, with a steady double-digit growth every month, based on superior experience rather than promotions.

Mr. Tran Ba Khoi Nguyen - Chairman of Zalopay shared: "In the very near future, users can use the Zalopay application to scan Wifi QR, bank card information or even vehicle license plates to check and make immediate fine payments if any.
