From AI to smart logistics: New momentum of 2 Vietnamese ICT giants

The outstanding business results of VNG and Viettel Post show the strong resilience of Vietnam's ICT business sector after the restructuring and adaptation period.

Two leading technology - logistics enterprises in Vietnam, VNG and Viettel Post, have just announced their business results for the third quarter of 2025, showing a positive financial picture, reflecting a stable recovery and sustainable development orientation in the context of many economic fluctuations.

According to the financial report for the third quarter of 2025, VNG Group recorded net revenue of VND 2,894 billion, an increase of 12% over the same period in 2024. Of which, revenue from the international market accounted for 19%.

Adjusted net operating profit reached VND263 billion, up 30% year-on-year, thanks to effective cost control and operational optimization strategies.

By the end of the third quarter, VNG had three consecutive quarters of positive profits, affirming the results of the restructuring process and investment discipline that the enterprise has implemented in the past two years.

Mr. Le Hong Minh, founder and Chairman of VNG, believes that this will be the foundation for VNG to develop in the long term and achieve a new growth cycle. In the last quarter of this year and throughout 2026, the Group will continue to invest in AI and expand the global market.

In business segments, Game continues to be the "locomotive" with total bookings reaching 2,328 billion VND, of which 17% comes from foreign markets. Long-term strategic game titles increased by 39% compared to the same period in 2024.

Other core products also maintained impressive growth momentum. Zalo remains the number 1 messaging platform in Vietnam with 79.2 million monthly users and 2.1 billion messages per day.

In the electronic payment segment, Zalopay achieved an 82% growth in total transaction volume, the number of regular users increased by 33%, while financial services revenue increased by 389% over the same period.

In the Digital Business segment, revenue in the first 9 months increased by 57%, of which 51% came from the AI ​​segment and 55% from overseas markets. GPU Cloud services grew by 135%, reflecting the high demand for computing for AI, finance and retail. VNG Cloud currently operates 5 availability zones in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok, ensuring 99.99% uptime.

Along with technology development, VNG continues to fulfill its social responsibility, contributing nearly 20 billion VND to charity activities in the third quarter. Notable programs include social housing construction in An Giang, flood relief in the North and the "Building dreams - Joining hands to rebuild" campaign with Zalopay.

From 2020 to present, VNG has contributed nearly 100 billion VND to community activities, affirming its commitment to sustainable and responsible development.

Also on October 31, Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Post) announced its third quarter business results with many bright spots. Viettel Post's revenue reached VND4,957 billion, completing 103.95% of the plan, while pre-tax profit reached VND109 billion, completing 100% of the quarterly plan.

In the first 9 months of the year, Viettel Post's revenue reached more than VND 15,023 billion, equivalent to 76% of the yearly plan; pre-tax profit was VND 323.5 billion, reflecting the clear effectiveness of the strategy of diversifying business fields and optimizing logistics technology infrastructure.

In the revenue structure, the core service group including delivery, transportation, warehousing, trade and finance reached VND 3,447 billion, an increase of 31.9% over the same period in 2024.

New business areas grew by an average of 89.2%, accounting for 24.1% of total revenue, up sharply from 16% in the same period, contributing nearly half of the overall growth rate.

Notably, this quarter Viettel Post launched the Tomato Box service, targeting individual customers and small businesses. The service allows creating orders in 60 seconds, with 3 flexible methods - via online link, hotline or QR scan at the post office - with a starting fee of only 20,000 VND.

At the same time, Viettel Post continues to affirm its capacity and international reputation by winning 3 international business awards (IBA 2025). This is the 7th consecutive year the company has been honored at IBA, demonstrating its brand strength and operational capacity.

Moving towards a new stage of development, Viettel Post is implementing a comprehensive logistics socialization strategy, in which stores, small businesses, and small and medium-sized transport enterprises can all participate in the network. The enterprise also promotes the system of authorized post offices, smart delivery cabinets (Smartbox) and digital transport platforms connecting thousands of trucks and containers.

According to the plan, in the fourth quarter of 2025, Viettel Post will increase the proportion of integrated logistics revenue to over 30%, while developing infrastructure projects in Lang Son, Quang Ninh and Lao Cai. The long-term goal is to build a green, smart and cross-border logistics ecosystem by 2030, contributing to the national logistics capacity.
