Conflict when elected as group leader, 8th grade female student was beaten by her friends and hospitalized

The People's Committee of Van Khanh Commune ( An Giang Province) said it is coordinating to handle the case of an 8th grade female student of Van Khanh Secondary and High School who was beaten by a group of friends and is currently being treated at Ca Mau Provincial General Hospital.

According to verification, on September 23, DTA (student of class 8/2) of Van Khanh Secondary and High School had a conflict with a group of classmates after being elected as the study group leader. Some students in the class, including CPT (class monitor), thought that TA was not worthy because he often talked during class. From then on, an argument broke out between the two sides in the class's Zalo group.

When TA posted the message with unrestrained words, some other friends forwarded it to T.'s group, making the conflict even more tense.

On the afternoon of September 22, the homeroom teacher asked both sides to write a report. However, the next day, a group of 6 students, including the class monitor, made an appointment with TA to talk after school.

After school, this group called TA to an empty lot near the school gate and then attacked and beat A. with helmets. Some students stood there filming the clip. After being stopped, the group left, but on the way home, the group continued to chase and beat TA again.

Examination results at U Minh Commune Health Center (Ca Mau Province) showed that TA suffered soft tissue injuries to the head, neck, ear and left eye. He was then transferred to a higher level for treatment.

The victim's family has submitted a petition requesting authorities to assess the injuries and handle the students involved in the incident.

Van Khanh Commune People's Committee has directed the Commune Police to transfer the file to the Investigation Police Agency to request an injury rate assessment.

The Commune People's Committee also requested the Board of Directors of Van Khanh Secondary and High School to review their responsibilities, organize a meeting on preventing school violence, and publicly announce the results of the handling to stabilize public opinion.
