The Congress was honored to welcome Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Republic of Vietnam. 




Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Ho Van Mung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Emulation and Reward Council of An Giang province, emphasized: Over the past 5 years, the patriotic emulation movement of the province has developed strongly, gone into depth, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of political , economic and social tasks.
Specifically, the province's average economic growth rate over the past 5 years is estimated at 6.20%. Key emulation movements such as "An Giang joins hands to build new rural areas" and "For the poor - leaving no one behind" have brought about practical results. Up to now, the province has had 87.6% of communes meeting new rural standards and has mobilized resources to build more than 10,000 Great Unity houses for the poor.

With the motto "One An Giang - One vision - One will - One belief in victory", Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees, soldiers and people in the province to continue to unite, strive to overcome difficulties, turn challenges into opportunities, strive to successfully implement the socio-economic development targets for the period 2025-2030, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress.

In her speech, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan acknowledged and commended the outstanding results and achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang have achieved, especially in the fields of high-tech agriculture, marine economy, tourism, border trade economy and the Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain being recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The Vice President emphasized that An Giang needs to continue promoting the historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions of President Ton Duc Thang's homeland to accelerate and break through to rapid and sustainable development. An Giang Province needs to focus on: Promoting the spirit of solidarity and promoting the responsibility of the staff; Investing in harmonious and sustainable socio-economic development; Continuously improving the quality of life of the people through the development of culture, health care and education; Strengthening the potential of national defense and security.

The Vice President directed the province to innovate the commendation work in a practical direction, based on actual results, ensuring accuracy, publicity, transparency, and at the same time focusing on honoring those who directly work, produce, fight, small groups, remote areas, border areas, and islands.
On this occasion, the Vice President presented 200 million VND from the Vietnam Children's Fund to children in especially difficult circumstances in An Giang province.

At the Congress, 62 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement were honored and received State-level awards, including: Posthumously awarding the State honorary title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" to 05 Mothers, First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals, the Government's Emulation Flag and Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.

Also at the Congress, Mr. Ho Van Mung officially launched the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025 - 2030. Responding to the launch, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, representing the great national unity bloc, pledged that the Fatherland Front at all levels will step up propaganda, mobilize people of all walks of life to respond, promote the role of supervision and social criticism, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
