Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung inspected the progress of Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, section passing through An Giang province.

On the afternoon of November 3, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung led a working delegation of the province to inspect the progress of the implementation of Component Project 1, under the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project, Phase 1. Accompanying the delegation was Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc.

The project has a starting point at Km0+314, connecting to the newly built National Highway 91, in Vinh Te ward (An Giang province); the end point is at Km57+328.32, connecting to Component Project 2, in Thanh Quoi commune ( Can Tho city). The total length of the expressway is over 57km (the section through An Giang is over 56.4km long; the section through Can Tho is nearly 0.6km long). The total investment of the project is over 13,500 billion VND. Striving to complete the project on December 19, 2025 (According to Notice No. 383/TB-VPCP, dated July 24, 2025 of the Government Office ).

Up to now, the construction output has reached 64.85% (exceeding about 0.08%) of the contract value. Currently, the project is facing some difficulties, mainly in the source of sand and stone.

Speaking at the working session, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested the Provincial Project Management Board to regularly inspect and urge relevant units to speed up project implementation progress and disburse capital.

Contractors have increased machinery, equipment, and construction personnel in accordance with the Prime Minister’s directive of “3 shifts, 4 shifts”. In addition, they have focused on resolving difficulties and problems in sand mining, sand and stone production, and prioritizing the highway.

The Provincial Project Management Board coordinated with the Department of Construction to complete the appraisal of documents, select and appoint a qualified contractor to build intersection 38 and rest stop, ensuring progress.

During the implementation process, the Project Management Board and contractors must speed up the progress while ensuring the quality of the project; it is necessary to report and recommend handling of units that cause delays and affect the progress.
