Implementing the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the weekly meeting on October 28, 2025 of the National Steering Committee on IUU, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee on IUU assigned members of the Provincial Steering Committee on IUU (Steering Committee) to manage 880 fishing vessels that are not qualified for fishing activities.
The Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones are responsible for managing and supervising fishing vessels that do not meet the conditions for operating in the area, and assigning focal points to coordinate with members of the Steering Committee and members of the working group assisting the Provincial IUU Steering Committee to closely manage fishing vessels and promptly exchange information.
Members of the Steering Committee and members of the Steering Committee's working group directly coordinate, monitor and inspect fishing vessels that do not meet the conditions for fishing activities.
The Steering Committee members assigned party members, cadres, civil servants and public employees to monitor and supervise fishing vessels according to the "4 clear" principle (clear who monitors and supervises fishing vessels; clear owner of fishing vessels; clear anchorage location of fishing vessels; clear current status of fishing vessels); to check, urge, summarize and quickly report the results of implementing the management and supervision of fishing vessels before 4:00 p.m. every day on the Steering Committee's Zalo group.
