Ha Nha commune authorities have awarded certificates of merit to many local people and units that rescued people in flood waters.

On the morning of November 2, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Mai Thanh Sang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nha Commune, Da Nang City, said that the People's Committee of the commune had just awarded certificates of merit to two people who bravely saved a person who was swept away by floodwaters and hugged an electric pole.

The two people who received certificates of merit were Mr. Tang Da, resident of Lam Phung village, and Mr. Mai Nhat Tam, resident of Ngoc Thach village.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , on the evening of October 28, a man was swept away by floodwaters under Ha Nha bridge.

This man was lucky to hold onto the electric pole. The Vu Gia river was tossing and turning, but he still tried to hold onto the electric pole.

On Ha Nha bridge, many people shouted for help, asking people on boats to come to the rescue. Then Mr. Da and Mr. Tam swam out on the boat to rescue, bringing the victim safely onto the boat.

After being rescued, the man lay on the boat exhausted after hugging the electric pole in the flood. On the bridge, many people applauded the two boatmen for their timely rescue.

It is known that the person swept away by the flood was Mr. LH, residing in Ngoc Kinh Dong village, Ha Nha commune. At 6:30 p.m. on October 28, Mr. H. was rowing his boat to visit his cows outside the farm when the boat suddenly capsized and he was swept away by the flood. Luckily, he was able to hug an electric pole and was rescued by Mr. Da and Mr. Tam who rowed the boat out to shore.

Mr. Sang said that the brave action of saving people of the two men above is like heroes in everyday life, the commune recognized that brave action. This morning, he went to meet these two people directly to present certificates of merit. It is known that Mr. Da works as a fisherman on the river, and Mr. Tam is a shipper.

On the same day, Mr. Sang also awarded a certificate of merit to Brigade 680 of Naval Region 3, which has been helping people during and after the flood, cleaning mud and spraying disinfectants. In addition, Mr. Sang also awarded a certificate of merit to a local person for saving people during the flood.

Mr. Da and Mr. Tam rowed the boat out into the flood to save people.
