The Asian Pickleball Federation (AFP) has formed an Asian Junior team of four Vietnamese players to compete in the US. The team will depart on November 4 from Tan Son Nhat airport.
Leading the Asian pickleball team this time are two Vietnamese coaches, Mr. Truong Quang Vu (Director of AFP Talent Development Program) and Mr. Huynh Phu Qui (Deputy Director of the program).
Initially, AFP sent 6 young tennis players: Kei Wasaki (Japan), Tran Duc Khang, Pham Hoai Anh, Le Bao Lam, Tran Ho Dan Thanh and Dan Linh Huong.
This is the Asian Junior team selected through the 2025 Asian Junior Open Championship held in Tam Ky, Quang Nam (old).
However, due to problems with the visa application process, only Tran Duc Khang, Dan Linh Huong and Tran Ho Dang Thanh had visas, along with a special friend, Le Vu Phuoc Loc, and were able to leave.
Four young pickleball players from Vietnam will compete in all five events in three age groups: U12, U14 and U16. On November 8, the Asian team will compete directly with the U16 pickleball team from the United States.
Mr. Truong Quang Vu said: "This is a great opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to compete and learn in the American arena, the birthplace of pickleball, thereby affirming the position and development of pickleball in Asia in general and Vietnam in particular."
