750 million VND for the 2025 Victory Cup prize

TPO - The 2025 Victory Cup Awards officially entered its 10th season, continuing its mission of honoring individuals and groups that have contributed to the glory of Vietnamese sports. With 11 voting categories and a total prize value of 750 million VND, this year's event promises to be a memorable milestone in the journey of marking the achievements and aspirations of the country's sports to reach the international level.

The Victory Cup - "Oscar of Vietnamese sports " - is an annual award jointly organized by Vietnam Cable Television Corporation (VTVcab), Viet Digital Sports Content and Trading Joint Stock Company (Vietcontent) and the Vietnam Sports Department, with the mission of honoring the values, achievements and noble sports spirit of Vietnam.

2025 is the 10th year the Victory Cup has been held. Over the past decade, the tournament has recognized more than 100 outstanding faces, from sports legends to young stars reaching the continental and world level. Names such as Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, Quach Thi Lan, Nguyen Huy Hoang, Do Hung Dung, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Hoang Xuan Vinh, Nguyen Quang Hai... have stepped onto the podium of the Victory Cup many times, creating a "memory museum" of Vietnamese sports throughout the decade.

Speaking at the press conference to announce the Victory Cup 2025, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, Director of the Vietnam Sports Department, Head of the Victory Cup Organizing Committee: “The Victory Cup is not just an award. It is a symbol of perseverance, will to rise and Vietnamese pride in the international arena. Over the past ten years, the award has truly become a driving force and a prestigious destination for all Vietnamese athletes. Ten years of the Victory Cup is not only a milestone for Vietnamese sports, but also a testament to the journey of creativity and innovation in honoring people”.

The 2025 Victory Cup has 11 voting categories, including: Male Athlete of the Year; Female Athlete of the Year; Young Athlete of the Year; Coach of the Year; Team of the Year; Teammate of the Year; Most Beloved Athlete; Outstanding Disabled Sports Athlete of the Year; Impressive Sports Image and Moment of the Year; Lifetime Achievement Award and Outstanding Foreign Expert of the Year.

With 11 categories, the award was able to meet the goal of recognizing and honoring in the most comprehensive and complete way the outstanding individuals, groups, and outstanding activities throughout a vibrant, colorful, and impressive year of Vietnamese sports, starting with the AFF Cup championship of the men's football team, followed by a series of brilliant international achievements such as 2 Asian gold medals of swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang and ending with a carefully prepared and promisingly explosive 33rd SEA Games.

The record prize money continues to be maintained by the Organizing Committee with a total of up to 750 million VND for 11 categories. Of which, the highest prize money, 100 million VND, is for individuals and groups winning prizes in 3 categories: Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year and Team of the Year.

Ms. Tran Thuy Chi, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vietcontent Company, presented the Outstanding Athlete Overcoming Difficulties award to disabled swimmer Pham Tuan Hung.

Notably, based on the reality associated with the specificity of the Victory Cup, the Organizing Committee decided to only "finalize" the list of candidates for each category and conduct the voting after the 33rd SEA Games (from December 9 to 20, 2025), the biggest international event of the year for Vietnamese sports, to select the most outstanding and deserving collectives and individuals. There are two voting rounds, including round 1 for audiences and fans nationwide, and round 2 conducted by the Voting Council consisting of managers, experts and prestigious sports journalists according to a strict and transparent process and method.

Along with careful investment and preparation in all aspects, the Organizing Committee will announce the list and voting methods to create the most convenient conditions for the audience to vote in the "peak month" (expected from December 25, 2025 to January 25, 2026).

At the announcement ceremony, the Organizing Committee also awarded the Outstanding Athlete Overcoming Difficulties award to disabled swimmer Pham Tuan Hung. This is a prize worth 25 million VND, taken from the award of the category of Images, Impressive Moments of the 2024 Victory Cup (50% given to the author and 50% given to the case of overcoming difficulties). Losing his legs in a tragic accident at the age of 2, moving completely dependent on his hands, but overcoming adversity and great pain, Tuan Hung not only became a swimmer and soccer player but also inspired many people to rise up in life. In less than 2 years of practicing swimming, in 2022, the boy from Quang Ninh won a silver medal at the national competition, then a year later a gold medal, and entered the list of athletes to compete in the ASEAN Para Games where he excellently ranked 4th. Recently, Hung was on the list of 10 athletes who qualified to participate in the World Swimming Championship. Along with his sports journey, the swimmer born in 2002 is also a digital content creator full of energy and inspiration, passionate about a tiktok channel with 700,000 followers. Tuan Hung's story once again affirms the profound human values ​​that the Victory Cup has pursued for over a decade - not only honoring achievements, but also honoring perseverance.
