List of candidates for professor and associate professor in 2025: Youngest professor is 39 years old

The State Council of Professors announced the list of candidates for professor and associate professor positions in 2025, in which the youngest professor is 39 years old.

900 candidates qualified for professorship and associate professorship, including 71 professors and 829 associate professors, with a general passing rate of 83.88% (71% for professor candidates and 85.2% for associate professor candidates). Thus, 11 candidates (2 professor candidates, 9 associate professor candidates) were not approved by the State Council of Professors in this year's review.

According to the list, the youngest professor candidate in 2025 is Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Trung (born in 1986), currently holding the position of Deputy Director of Campus II of Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City.

The two youngest associate professor candidates this year, both born in 1992, are Dr. Do Quang Loc (lecturer of the Physics Department, University of Science - Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh (chief researcher of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, Institute of Chemistry - Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology).

According to the procedure, after 15 days from the announcement of the results, if there are no complaints or feedback, the Chairman of the State Council of Professors will sign the decision to recognize and grant certificates of qualification to the candidates.
