Regarding the case of a female secondary school student in Ho Chi Minh City being beaten up by a group of people right in school, on the afternoon of November 5, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that they had received a detailed report on the incident at An Dien Secondary School.
According to the report, the incident stemmed from a conflict while lining up for physical education class 8A9 on the afternoon of October 31. When the teacher reprimanded and threatened to report the matter to their parents, a group of students made an appointment to go to the school restroom to “resolve the conflict.”
On November 3, the school board invited the parents and students involved to a meeting. The group of students involved in the beating admitted their wrongdoings, expressed remorse, and accepted all forms of discipline.
The school principal said he would take responsibility for the incident and pledged to strictly handle the group of offending students to deter and educate the entire school.
On the victim’s family’s side, Ms. A. - the victim’s mother said that she took her child to the hospital for examination. At the hospital, the doctor said that the child had multiple injuries, 3 broken ribs, and was in a state of panic.

Because the family is preparing for the semester exams, they asked to let the child go home for outpatient treatment so as not to affect his studies.
According to Ms. A., before the clip was released on social media, the school invited the parents to meet with the school board and the families of the students who beat her child. At the meeting, the parents admitted their mistakes and asked for compensation for medical expenses, so Ms. A. let it go and did not make a big deal out of it.
However, she had no idea about the brutal assault as shown in the clip that was released on the evening of November 4. After watching the clip, she decided to file a complaint with the authorities.
Previously, on the evening of November 4, a clip was circulated on social media recording a scene of a female student being beaten by a group of friends in the restroom area at An Dien Secondary School (Long Nguyen Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
In the clip, the female student is pushed against a wall corner, continuously questioned by a group of friends, who point fingers at her face and then beat her. The group throws the victim to the ground, kicks her in the face, and drags her by her hair.
The victim could only hold his head and endure the beating, while many other students stood around watching, some even cheering and encouraging.

The incident only stopped when a teacher appeared and shouted at the group of students to stop. The clip quickly spread on social media, causing public outrage.
A representative of the Long Nguyen Ward People's Committee confirmed that they had received information about the incident and directed the police and the school's board of directors to urgently verify and clarify the cause, and take measures to handle it according to regulations.
Authorities are working with relevant parties to identify the group of students involved, check the health of the beaten female student, and review the school's responsibility in managing and supervising students.
