Accordingly, in order to proactively and urgently deploy plans and measures to respond to the impact of storm Kalmaegi and the situation of high tides, ensuring safety for students and convenience for parents to pick up and drop off students, Tran Van On Secondary School has announced to adjust the dismissal time on Thursday (November 6) and Friday (November 7).

Specifically, the temporary dismissal time for these two days is in the afternoon, with students in grades 6 and 7 leaving at 3:45 p.m.; students in grades 8 and 9 leaving at 4:00 p.m.

The school's board of directors said that the content of the lessons was affected, so teachers proactively uploaded the lessons to the K12 Online LMS system, guiding students to self-study.

With the above notice of change in school hours, homeroom teachers inform parents and instruct students to prepare to leave according to the schedule; ensuring safety when moving in the school yard.

The supervisory, security, and medical staff direct the entrance and exit. Provide rain protection, safety warnings, and handle any situations that arise. Students should pay attention to their movements and not play around while waiting. Subject teachers in the last period will assist in keeping students moving.

The school requests parents to coordinate and proactively arrange to pick up their children on time; bring raincoats and hats; and follow the traffic flow of the civil defense guards to avoid congestion. In case parents are late due to force majeure, they can wait in the corridor of area A.

Similarly, Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School (Sai Gon Ward) has just announced to parents: Tomorrow, Friday (November 7), all students will leave the school at 3:40 p.m. Club lessons will be made up during the first semester. Storm Kalmaegi (storm number 13) approaches the mainland, Quang Ngai and Gia Lai are 'especially dangerous'

On the evening of November 5, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training urgently notified nearly 3,500 schools to urgently deploy plans and measures to respond to the impact of storm Kalmaegi.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires schools to focus on implementing preventive and response measures when storm Kalmaegi affects the Ho Chi Minh City area. Prepare plans to respond to the effects of the storm, especially thunderstorms, tornadoes, landslides, and flooding caused by heavy rain combined with high tides.

Urgently repair and reinforce structures at risk of being unsafe, coordinate with specialized units to trim the green tree system inside the school, check the sewer system and the power grid to ensure the safety of students, teachers and administrators before storms and floods occur.

The Department of Education and Training also requested schools to prepare plans to evacuate students and teachers to safe places; move documents and equipment to dry places before storms and floods. Proactively coordinate with local authorities to receive support in terms of expertise, materials and equipment when situations arise when affected by storm Kalmaegi.

Closely monitor the development of storms and rains, maintain regular contact with authorities and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents.

Have a plan ready for online learning, postpone class schedules during complicated stormy days (if any).

In particular, the Department of Education and Training directed schools to temporarily suspend extracurricular educational activities for students before, during and after the storm until safety measures return to normal.
