Ho Chi Minh City deploys many solutions to prevent school violence

Timely grasping conflicts and contradictions among students, caring for special and disadvantaged students... are solutions to prevent school violence of the Ho Chi Minh City education sector.

On the morning of October 24, speaking at the conference summarizing the 2024-2025 school year and deploying tasks for students in the 2025-2026 school year, Ms. Cao Thi Thien Phuc, Head of the Student Affairs Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that in the 2025-2026 school year, the Ho Chi Minh City education sector will continue to implement the instructions of all levels on preventing and combating school violence. In particular, schools need to strengthen the following tasks:

Create effective communication channels through the team of homeroom teachers, supervisors and mass organizations at the unit; Timely grasp conflicts and disputes among students to take measures to prevent them from the beginning. Do not let insecurity and disorder occur at the unit, especially at the school gate and around the school campus.

In addition, units need to clearly assign responsibilities to each organization and individual; Arrange competent and responsible homeroom teachers; Pay attention to special and disadvantaged students; School administrators, teachers and staff need to proactively prevent, detect, stop and promptly handle incidents within their authority.

In particular, Ms. Phuc suggested that schools need to establish and operate channels to receive and process information about school violence;

Strengthening legal education and content on preventing and combating school violence;

Integrating education on life values, life skills, self-protection skills, and abuse prevention into related subjects, Youth Union and Team activities, and extracurricular activities;

Fully implement regulations on safe, healthy and friendly educational environment to all managers, teachers, employees, students and parents...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Van Dat, Deputy Director of the Department of Students, Ministry of Education and Training , emphasized that he was very impressed when the conference on student affairs in Ho Chi Minh City had the full participation of the leaders of the Board of Directors of the Department of Education and Training, leaders of departments, branches, sectors and organizations of the city. This shows that student affairs are highly valued by Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Dat said that in recent times, the education sector of Ho Chi Minh City has achieved many achievements, leading the country in student affairs. After the merger, Ho Chi Minh City will face many challenges. Therefore, Mr. Dat suggested that the leaders of the education sector of the city, which have already paid attention, should pay more attention to this work to complete the task of comprehensive education for students.
