According to regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the 10th grade exam for the 2025-2026 school year will take place on June 6-7. Candidates will take the exams in literature, foreign language, math (if applying for regular 10th grade) and specialized/integrated subjects if applying for specialized schools or schools with integrated classes.

The 10th grade admission process is carried out in 2 phases:

Phase 1: Students register for 3 priority wishes 1, 2, 3 to take the entrance exam to grade 10 of public high schools.
Phase 2: Depending on the actual application situation at high schools and the needs of high schools, the Department of Education and Training will decide on additional enrollment and issue written instructions to ensure the rights of candidates, on the basis of recruiting enough enrollment quotas for schools that are still lacking many quotas.

For students registering for grade 10 specialized schools, if they do not pass the entrance exam or do not apply to specialized high schools, they can still participate in the admission exam according to their 3 grade 10 wishes to public high schools.

The Department of Education and Training advises students to choose to register their preferences near their current residence to avoid being admitted but not submitting their application. Students are not allowed to change their preferences after the deadline for adjusting preferences has expired according to regulations from now until 5 p.m. on May 19.
