Soldiers brave the rain to help people harvest off-season rice |
Although the entire city has completed the summer-autumn crop, due to the soil characteristics, there are still nearly 90 hectares of rice in Thuy Tan commune that are ready for harvest. Due to the impact of storm No. 1, all of this rice area is deeply flooded, at risk of being flooded.
Through a field survey, the City Military Command urgently coordinated with units stationed in the area (forces of Regiment 176, Division 968) and local people (about more than 200 people) to help people harvest rice.
In the afternoon, the harvest of the 90 hectares of rice mentioned above was completed. Support forces brought the rice back and organized drying to ensure the quality of the rice.
