Aiming to reach a more diverse and modern audience, starting in 2026, the Television Film Center will launch a line of high-quality miniseries. These high-quality series, consisting of 16-20 episodes, focus on exploring less-explored or even unprecedented themes and genres, daring to experiment with fresh storytelling techniques and unique characters to enhance the viewer's emotional experience.

At the press conference launching the high-quality miniseries on January 22nd in Hanoi , Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television Do Thanh Hai emphasized that the market context and viewer habits have changed rapidly, requiring television to seek new creative spaces and new opportunities for professionals and artists.
According to Mr. Do Thanh Hai, miniseries is not just about shortening the number of episodes, but a different approach to filmmaking. This genre aims to deeply explore the identities and inner lives of characters in specific settings, allowing the story to develop fully, instead of being spread out in a familiar narrative style.

Thus, miniseries not only meet entertainment needs but also reflect the dynamics of contemporary society, linked to technological advancements and audience trends in content consumption. In the long term, this is also a way for Vietnamese television to spread the image and culture of Vietnam to a wider regional and international market, while affirming its position in an increasingly fierce competitive environment.
According to the Vietnam Television Film Center, miniseries prioritize content with novel ideas, emphasize modernity, have a tight structure, a fast pace, and a storytelling style rich in cinematic qualities.

Among them, "Countdown Clock" will be shown first, at 8 PM on January 29th. This is the first time a social drama with surreal elements has aired during prime time. The film tells the story of Thanh, who suddenly gains the ability to see the remaining days of other people's lives and embarks on a time-traveling contract with Death. The film stars Thanh Son, Hoang Ha, Binh An, Lan Phuong, Yen My… along with veteran actors such as People's Artist Trung Anh, Meritorious Artist Linh Hue, Quach Thu Phuong; and especially the intelligent dog Coddy (who can talk to Thanh in the film).
