Michelin-starred restaurants are the most important category, and also the last category announced at the Michelin culinary honor ceremony held on the evening of June 6, in Hanoi. There are 4 restaurants receiving one Michelin star. Among them, Anan Saigon restaurant is in Ho Chi Minh City; the remaining 3 restaurants are all in Hanoi: GIA, Hibana by Koki and Tam Vi.

According to Michelin Guide ( the world's leading culinary guide "showing the way" for tourists and local food enthusiasts - PV), Anan Saigon is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant where chef Peter Cuong Franklin applies modern cooking techniques to street food recipes to create delicious and attractive flavors.
GIA also follows a contemporary style with head chef Sam Tran, featuring a seasonal menu inspired by Vietnamese culinary heritage.
Hibana by Koki with head chef Hiroshi Yamaguchi and a menu that offers a luxurious feel, made from premium ingredients imported directly from Japan.
Tam Vi has a classic teahouse style, typical of Northern Vietnam, mainly serving home-cooked dishes from Northern Vietnam.
Previously, Michelin also announced the results of the Michelin Selected category (meeting Michelin Guide standards - PV) including 70 restaurants. Mr. Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of Michelin Guide, said he was very proud to have completed the list of the first Michelin Guide-certified restaurants in Vietnam. This list clearly reflects the differences and richness of cuisine in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Regarding cuisine in Hanoi, Mr. Gwendal Poullennec commented: "The capital Hanoi always shows relaxation and calmness with small shops and restaurants that you can easily find in the Old Quarter.
