In the group stage, PVF lost 2-4 to Hanoi. However, in this rematch, the home team had prepared carefully and showed a completely different face. Learning from the previous defeat, PVF players entered the match cautiously, prioritizing control of the game and minimizing the opponent's attacks.
This tactic was effective when Hanoi's attack was stuck in approaching the goal. On the contrary, PVF took advantage of counter-attacks. In the 31st minute, Trong Hiep decisively finished in the penalty area, opening the score 1-0 for the home team.
