Vu Ngoc Ha was stripped of her gold medal in the long jump and silver medal in the triple jump. Le Ngoc Phuc was stripped of his silver medal in the men's 400m and silver medal in the men's 4x400m relay.
In a hearing held by the Southeast Asian Sports Council a few months ago, Vietnamese athletes explained their purchase of dietary supplements for use. The product packaging did not list any ingredients contained in the dietary supplements. The Vietnamese athletes said they had used them unintentionally, not intentionally. However, the Southeast Asian Sports Council did not conclude that the athletes had used them unintentionally, but instead confirmed that they had used banned substances in sports. The Council reported the incident to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
