According to Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, the Project Incubator is an idea first implemented at DANAFF.

Among them, DANAFF's Talent initiative is notable for including the Talent Incubation Class (which has been successful since the previous 2 festivals) and the Project Incubator. This is considered a new idea, not only helping to develop and support young Asian talents but also a space for learning, exchanging and connecting between filmmakers and producers, investors and distributors looking for promising projects.
Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, President of the Vietnam Cinema Promotion and Development Association, said: "We think a lot about the shortage of young human resources for cinema, along with young talents that have not been discovered and encouraged and supported in time. Therefore, the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival is determined to open a Project Incubator for young people to learn, supplement knowledge and experience in building feasible projects from leading international experts and find ways to turn projects into films, at the same time compete in talent to discover and assert themselves."
The project incubator includes 2 categories: Asian Art Film Project and Vietnamese Film Project. Previously, the Organizing Committee selected 14 promising projects to enter the next competition. The Asian Art Film Project category includes: Another story about love and hope, The Balloon, No money no honey, In between worlds, The young theorist club, Midnight Inn and Ghost of the currents . In the Vietnamese Film Project category, there are Flying cows, A little dream of me, The best damn things, Broken being: Refuse to awake, The girl remains home alone, Trapped in Hell and The offering .
Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan expressed her excitement that the programs in the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival not only received the attention and response of Asian and Vietnamese filmmakers but also received support from major film agencies and organizations in the world . Regarding the project incubator idea, the French National Cinema Center (CNC) sponsored 8,000 euros for the best Asian film project and the American Cinema Association (MPA) sponsored 5,000 USD for the best Vietnamese film project.
"Projects that are awarded prizes sponsored by CNC or MPA will have an advantage in moving forward, "knocking on the doors" of other support funds or investors. Right at the Project Incubator, there are also some representatives of funds or international project markets who come to attend and can choose the projects they like. While the state has not yet established a fund to support film development, the Project Incubator is useful for young filmmakers," Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan shared.
According to the announcement from the Organizing Committee, more than 100 excellent films from Vietnam and Asia will be present at DANAFF III, creating a colorful film week. Many stars from Korea such as actor Ji Seung Hyun, actor Park Sung Woong... also confirmed that they will be present in Da Nang to participate in this Film Festival.
DANAFF III will open at 8pm on June 29 at the Ariyana Danang International Convention Palace. The closing ceremony and award ceremony will also be held at 8pm on July 5. Both events will be broadcast live on VTV.
DANAFF III has two major programs: Half a Century of Vietnam's War Films Since the Reunification of the Country and Korean Cinema Spotlight to affirm the value of Vietnamese and Korean cinema heritage, through screening classic cinema works and in-depth discussions on cinema development lessons in international conferences. In addition, programs such as Panorama of Asian Cinema, DANAFF's Talent... promise to bring many interesting experiences to filmmakers and cinema lovers.
