The ideal stop for cinema lenses
In recent years, Da Nang has appeared more and more on the big screen and on international television. Not only is it a beautiful backdrop, it also contributes to shaping the setting, characters, and even becomes the main “character” in cinematic stories.
We can mention the movie Love You Regardless (2018) - a Vietnamese remake of the Korean blockbuster My Sassy Girl, with sparkling footage filmed at many prominent locations in Da Nang. In particular, the Hollywood action movie The Protégé (2021) boldly included Da Nang in the plot when the main character is Vietnamese and his hometown is... the city on the Han River.
Vietnamese audiences were extremely excited when they recognized familiar scenes such as the Dragon Bridge and the Han River appearing in the trailer for Taxi Driver 2 (2023), one of the most popular Korean TV series.

Many famous movies choose Da Nang as the ideal destination to film scenes. |
Not stopping there, Netflix's A Tourist's Guide to Love (2023) filmed many scenes in Da Nang, from the poetic My Khe beach, peaceful countryside to the Ngu Hanh Son landscape, contributing to strongly promoting the beauty of Vietnam to the world . Even the Thai crew chose Sun World Ba Na Hills as a visual highlight in the romantic film Heartbeats (2020).
These choices not only demonstrate Da Nang's appeal to filmmakers, but also open up the potential to turn the city into a new regional film hub.
The "angles" not to be missed
Da Nang's landscape is a harmonious combination of nature and modern urban architecture, meeting the diverse requirements of film genres from action, romance, history to fantasy.
The most prominent is the Dragon Bridge - the city's tourist symbol. Not only is it designed to resemble a Ly Dynasty dragon, this bridge also impresses with its ability to spray fire and water every weekend, a special visual effect that cannot be found anywhere else.

Da Nang Museum, with its ancient French architecture combined with modern features, is an ideal choice for scenes with historical and cultural depth. The museum's space of more than 8,600 square meters helps recreate a part of the soul of ancient Da Nang in the heart of a modern city.
Marble Mountains offers a magical, sacred landscape with a system of limestone mountains, caves, and ancient pagodas. Mountains such as Thuy Son, Moc Son, or Huyen Khong Cave have been the inspiration for many documentaries, spiritual films, or fantasy films.
Don’t miss Sun World Ba Na Hills, a place that recreates Europe on the top of Chua Mountain. With the world-famous Golden Bridge and the French Village with classic architecture, this place is a paradise for filming romantic or magical scenes. The cable car to the top of Ba Na is also a big plus when providing majestic panoramic views from above.

Hoa Bac, the northwestern suburb of the city, is like a peaceful countryside painting - an ideal place for rustic, authentic frames. Meanwhile, Son Tra peninsula makes every lens stop because of the pristine beauty of the old forest, the winding coastline and rare animals such as the red-shanked douc langur.
Ready to become an international film studio
Da Nang not only has beautiful nature but also convenient transportation infrastructure, developed tourism services and open local government in supporting film crews. These are the fundamental factors for the city to "stretch out" to become a regional cinema center.
Currently, the Department of Tourism and related units are actively developing policies to promote the city's image through cinema, while creating favorable conditions for licensing, logistics support, and communication for film production crews. Da Nang is also promoting the model of "film studio tourism", where tourists can visit locations that have been filmed, connecting real-life experiences with emotions from the screen.

With the combination of beautiful landscape, urban potential and a well-planned promotion strategy, Da Nang is gradually affirming its position as a “golden destination” for the film industry. One day in the not too distant future, when talking about ideal outdoor film studios in Asia, Da Nang will certainly be a prominent name on that list.
