During the inspection, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thai Binh listened to the opinions of relevant units on the planning and adjustment of construction planning for resettlement areas; proposals to adjust the route of the North-South high-speed railway project; the planning and allocation of each sub-project in resettlement, and resettlement plans.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested relevant units and localities to report specifically and complete the dossiers according to the plan agreed upon at the inspection, so that they can be submitted to the city leaders for consideration and specific decision.

According to the Quang Nam Provincial Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transportation Works (the investor), the North-South high-speed railway project (the section from the south of the Thu Bon River to the end of Da Nang city) has a total investment of over 10,000 billion VND.

The project is divided into sub-projects such as: compensation, support and land clearance services (nearly 5,000 billion VND), sub-project for relocating technical infrastructure (240 billion VND), sub-project for constructing resettlement areas (4,500 billion VND) and sub-project for completing cemetery construction (465 billion VND).

The investor will focus on constructing 14 new sub-projects for resettlement areas (approximately 28 resettlement areas in 14 communes); and constructing 8 new sub-projects for cemeteries (approximately 12 cemeteries in 8 communes) to serve the needs of reburial.

Currently, the consulting unit is conducting surveys and developing plans for the agreed-upon areas; surveying the topography of all areas (the An My resettlement area - Thang Dien commune) and Quy Xuan - Thang Binh commune are awaiting the final selection of a plan).

Regarding the implementation of the railway compensation and land clearance sub-project, the investor will continue to coordinate with local authorities and relevant units to supplement, refine, and update the project during the appraisal process.

Regarding the implementation of the sub-project for relocating technical infrastructure, the following will be carried out: relocating and restoring medium and low voltage power lines and systems at 94 intersections; relocating telecommunication lines at 67 sections with a total length of approximately 18,397m after relocation, and 4 telecommunication base stations (BTS); and relocating clean water supply pipelines with a length of approximately 11,315m.

The investor continues to coordinate and seek feedback from the owner units to update the scope of impact and jointly develop an implementation plan.

During the inspection, Duy Xuyen commune also proposed adjusting the route through the commune to avoid affecting two provincial-level historical sites (the tomb of Princess Ngoc Dung and the tomb of Nguyen Duc Huy), schools, and to prevent impact on the graves at Nong Bo People's Cemetery (approximately 21,000 graves).
