The 2023 Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad will be held online with 1,471 contestants from 36 countries and territories participating (of which Canada, Mexico, and Brazil were invited to participate but were not considered for prizes). China is the host country.
The Vietnamese national team, consisting of 15 contestants, competed online at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi on May 20, 2023. According to the regulations of the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad Organizing Committee, Vietnam was selected to select 6 contestants with the highest scores to participate in the award consideration.
According to information from China about the results of the 2023 Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad of the Vietnamese national team, all 6/6 candidates participating in the award consideration won medals.

At the 2023 Asia Pacific Olympiad in Informatics, 95 contestants won prizes. According to the medal rankings, Vietnam ranked 9th.
This result has affirmed the quality of general education and the right direction in the work of discovering, selecting and nurturing excellent students of the Ministry of Education and Training. At the same time, it demonstrates the efforts of students, teachers, schools and the education sector in teaching well and learning well.
