7 out of 15 communes do not yet have OCOP products.

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province, after 5 years of implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, there are currently 29 products recognized as OCOP products in the district, including 6 products achieving 4 stars and 23 products achieving 3 stars, with no products having been revoked. However, the entire district still has 7 out of 15 communes without OCOP products, including Trieu Thanh, Trieu Thuong, Trieu Giang, Trieu Trach, Trieu Long, Trieu Trung, and Trieu Phuoc.

According to assessments by relevant authorities, the reason is that the program's implementation has been uneven across localities, with some communes concentrating many products and numerous producers, resulting in a rich and diverse range of products.

Furthermore, some localities have not been decisive in directing the implementation, resulting in a lack of products meeting OCOP standards. Many products that have already been recognized are now facing the risk of not being able to maintain production and may have their certificates revoked due to insufficient competitiveness with similar products already on the market in terms of price, quality, and design.

To address this situation, in 2025, Trieu Phong district will strengthen information and communication activities regarding the content of the annual OCOP program and its cycle. Especially for communes without OCOP products, it is necessary to intensify efforts to encourage implementation so that each commune has at least one distinctive OCOP product; and to promptly report any difficulties, obstacles, and shortcomings encountered during the implementation of the OCOP program in the localities.

At the same time, priority should be given to selecting products that are linked to the advantages and strengths of the local raw material sources and indigenous resources, processed products, traditional products, and craft villages, and encouraging the development of new product ideas.
