Aespa wins big, HYBE idols unexpectedly avoid MMA 2024 despite winning

Aespa makes history with 3 Daesang awards

As the biggest winning group in the 2024 MMA season, Aespa rocked the stage with 3 hits Whiplash, Supernova, Armageddon .

As a result, Aespa won three prestigious Daesang awards, including Best Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.

In addition, SM Entertainment's girl group was also named in Millions Top 10, Best Girl Group, Best Performance Girl Group, Top 10 Best Artists (Bonsang).

Daesang Record of the Year goes to (G)I-DLE with the song Fate . Although not the title song of the album, Fate has a spectacular climb on domestic music charts.

At the same time, it became the third song in 2024 to achieve Perfect All Kill, after Love wins all (IU) and Bam yang gang (BIBI).

In addition to Aespa, the 9 K-pop stars in the top 10 best artists are (G)I-DLE, RIIZE, PLAVE, TWS, DAY6, IU, Jungkook, SEVENTEEN, NewJeans.

The New Artist of the Year award surprised everyone when it named two rookies from HYBE - ILLIT, TWS, even though both groups had previously been involved in scandals related to their achievements.

Notably, despite many achievements, most HYBE artists were absent from MMA 2024. Only TWS appeared at the show.

Fans speculate that the reason stems from the scandal between HYBE and NewJeans. The groups limit their media appearances to "avoid the storm" of public opinion.

PLAVE made history by winning the Top 10 Bonsang and Millions Top 10.

This is also the first group to pursue the virtual group model, the members do not show their faces but are known through AI graphics.
