Pham Minh Tien, a student majoring in Construction Engineering Technology at Can Tho University of Technology, shared: “The talk show helped me better understand the application of AI in learning and work. If used correctly, AI can greatly assist in searching for documents, processing data, and improving professional skills. However, users themselves need to filter information and should not rely entirely on AI.”
The speakers also noted that, in addition to its outstanding benefits, AI users need to equip themselves with information verification skills. At the same time, they emphasized the importance of using technology responsibly to avoid excessive dependence, which could negatively impact independent thinking and personal creativity.
Nguyen Hoang Vien, Secretary of the Youth Union of Can Tho University of Technology, said: “The Youth Union has implemented many activities to support students in improving their digital skills and adapting to the trend of digital transformation. Training sessions on digital skills, guidance on applying new technologies, and forums on innovative entrepreneurship are regularly organized, creating an environment for students to access technology, improve practical skills, and adapt to the labor market in the digital age.”
From the beginning of 2026 to the present, the city's Youth Union branches have focused on implementing the Central Youth Union's "Enhancing Digital Capacity for Vietnamese Youth in the period 2022-2030" project. Through this, they have organized over 30 training courses to improve digital capacity for more than 8,500 Youth Union members; established 425 community digital technology groups, attracting over 6,500 Youth Union members to participate in disseminating information and guiding students and citizens in digital transformation.
The city's Youth Union branches also effectively implemented the "Creative Youth" movement, linking it with the local political tasks and the practical needs of young people. As a result, young people registered to carry out 150 scientific research projects and proposed 320 ideas and initiatives on innovative entrepreneurship, digital application in learning and work, etc.
According to the Can Tho City Youth Union, during the summer (from May to August 2026), all levels of the Youth Union will continue to implement a series of training activities/talkshows on the application of AI in learning and work for students and young people. Besides guiding young people on how to utilize digital tools for learning and work, issues of personal data security and skills in using AI safely and effectively will also be integrated into these activities.
Through practical activities, the city's youth can enhance their digital skills and adapt to new technologies. This will contribute to the formation of a high-quality young workforce, meeting the development requirements of the digital economy and digital society era.
