Traditionally, the Lunar New Year holiday has sparked a wave of shopping frenzy across Southeast Asia, and this year is no exception. According to Alibaba.com data, traffic from the region increased by more than 50% in December compared to October. Since November, Alibaba.com app downloads have been steadily increasing among Southeast Asians, and the app has consistently ranked among the top three shopping apps on Vietnam’s Android app store. This trend shows that demand for B2B products and services in Southeast Asia is booming.
Alibaba.com also announced the top five product categories with high growth potential in the region, including: perfumes & cosmetics; pet food; power tools; holiday decorations; and camping and hiking gear. “We encourage businesses to take full advantage of the promotions currently on offer to maximize their retail profits.
