Youth union members in Tam Anh commune recently carried out many meaningful activities together; including a youth project to paint and renovate the house of Ms. On Thi Nghia, a member of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of the commune.

Ms. Nghia, an elderly woman no longer able to work, lives alone in an old, dilapidated single-story house that has deteriorated after many years of rain and wind. To help improve her living conditions, the youth union members of the commune organized a house renovation. The old, stained walls were repainted, the ceiling was cleaned, and the fence, gate, and garden were tidied up.

Continuing this meaningful project, the Youth Union of Nguyen Khuyen Secondary School (Tam Anh commune) organized a "Youth Union Meal" on the same day as the inauguration of the house renovation project for Mrs. Nghia. In a warm atmosphere, the union members prepared simple dishes together, but filled with affection.

Ms. Ho Thi Y, Secretary of the Youth Union Branch of Nguyen Khuyen Secondary School, said, “The ‘Reunion Meal’ is a regular annual activity. It’s not just a simple reunion meal, but also a profound expression of gratitude, an opportunity for students and Youth Union members to show appreciation and uphold the principle of ‘drinking water, remembering the source’ towards those who came before and contributed to the homeland and the country.”

Similarly, the Youth Union of Diem Pho village (Tam Anh commune) recently organized a visit, cleaned the house, and cooked a warm meal at the home of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nhan (born in 1935, Diem Pho village), a family with revolutionary merit who is currently worshipping martyrs.

During the "Reunion Meal," young people personally went to the market, cooked, cleaned the house, and offered incense at the altar of fallen soldiers. They also listened to the heroic stories of the family's struggle for independence. This helped educate them about revolutionary traditions, fostered patriotism and national pride, and continued the spirit of volunteerism among the local youth.

According to Huynh Minh Phat, Secretary of the Tam Anh Commune Youth Union, the youth branches in the commune have simultaneously implemented many meaningful activities, among which the "Youth Union Meal" has left a deep impression. Organized at the homes of policy beneficiaries, revolutionary veterans, and youth union members in difficult circumstances, the activity creates a warm and sharing atmosphere, contributing to building an image of young people who are responsible, caring, and spreading love.

Meanwhile, in Hiep Duc commune, youth union branches are paying attention to visiting and sharing with families of policy beneficiaries and revolutionary veterans. In addition to organizing "Youth Union Meals," many branches are also providing special care for the health of revolutionary veterans.

On March 23rd, the An Nam village Youth Union, in coordination with the Hiep Duc Regional Health Center Youth Union, organized a visit and health check-up for Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nam, a beneficiary of government social welfare policies. Members of the Hiep Duc Regional Health Center Youth Union conducted a general health check-up, advised on nutrition and rest, and provided free nutritional supplements to help improve her health. In addition, the young people chatted with her, showed concern, and offered encouragement, bringing her joy in her twilight years.

According to a representative of the An Nam village Youth Union, these simple yet practical and meaningful actions contribute to caring for the elderly in general, and families of policy beneficiaries and revolutionary veterans in particular, demonstrating the gratitude of the younger generation towards their predecessors. These actions continue the journey of gratitude, spreading a beautiful image of the proactive volunteer spirit of young people; and at the same time, fostering beautiful ideals and a sense of responsibility towards the community among youth union members.
