Amazon is operating more than 1 million robots in its warehouses globally, a number nearly equivalent to its human workforce. Robotic arms like the Vulcan or Sparrow can pick, sort, pack and transport goods at extremely high speeds.
About 75% of Amazon's global delivery operations are now assisted by robots. Automation helps companies improve productivity while reducing pressure on human resources and operating costs.
Amazon workers like Neisha Cruz have switched from manual labor to supervising robotic systems, and their income has also increased 2.5 times. Amazon also deploys AI in warehouses to forecast demand, organize inventory, and optimize robot performance. At a 3 million square foot warehouse in Louisiana, more than 60 robots work around the clock, increasing shipping speeds by 25%.
According to Amazon Robotics chief technology officer Tye Brady, robots will replace boring tasks so that humans can focus on more important tasks. Readers are invited to watch more videos : Iris scanning tool to verify human identity | VTV24
