This merger will open up opportunities for restructuring the region's infrastructure, forming more closely linked value chains from production, processing, logistics, and export. At a meeting with the Standing Committees of the An Giang and Kien Giang Provincial Party Committees before the merger of the two provinces, General Secretary To Lam directed: “After the merger, the new province must quickly stabilize its organization, while focusing intensely on socio-economic development with a proactive, creative, decisive, and flexible spirit. The immediate goal is to strive to comprehensively complete all targets for 2025, especially achieving a GRDP growth rate of over 8%, creating a solid foundation for double-digit growth in subsequent periods. To achieve this goal, we need to focus on removing bottlenecks in the business environment, planning, infrastructure, capital sources, digital transformation, and the quality of human resources.”

These serve as a "guiding principle" for all activities, ensuring development in the right direction. Alongside economic development, the province focuses on comprehensively developing social welfare and improving the quality of life for its people. Developing culture and preserving traditional values ​​is a key factor, closely linked to fostering confidence, pride, and a desire to contribute among the people of the province. Simultaneously, there is a strong shift towards a development model based on knowledge, technology, and high-quality human resources. This direction aligns with the spirit of the Politburo's new resolutions and is also the shortest path for the province to make breakthroughs, catch up with new development trends in the era of digital transformation and comprehensive integration.

Successfully organizing Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party, is a key task.
