An Giang organized many delegations to visit and extend New Year greetings for Chol Chnam Thmay.

According to the People's Committee of An Giang province, this year, the Chol Chnam Thmay Tet (Khmer ethnic minority) will take place from April 13th to April 5th. In order to care for and support the Khmer ethnic minority in celebrating Tet in a joyful, enthusiastic, united, safe, and economical manner, the province will organize many delegations to visit, congratulate, and give gifts to the Khmer ethnic minority on the occasion of Tet.

Accordingly, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and provincial departments and agencies will organize numerous delegations to visit, congratulate, and present gifts to 12 Khmer Theravada Buddhist temples, 35 exemplary Khmer ethnic minority individuals from 5 districts, towns, communes, and cities in the province (Tinh Bien town, Tri Ton, Chau Thanh, and Thoai Son districts), and Khmer ethnic minority students, soldiers (army, police, border guards).

Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, Le Van Phuoc, requested that the activities be solemn, practical, economical, and appropriate in scale and content to the festival and the culture of the Khmer ethnic group. Through these activities, the aim is to further affirm the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations in implementing policies for ethnic minorities, especially the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels to the holidays and festivals of ethnic minorities in the province.

At the same time, we must educate people about fine cultural traditions, create a joyful atmosphere, preserve and promote the national cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities; preserve and promote advanced cultural values ​​with strong national identity; and strengthen and maintain the unity of the entire nation.
