Decision to issue an arrest warrant for Nguyen Quoc Thinh
Initial investigations revealed that: After closing his shop for several days to visit his family, on the afternoon of January 31, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thanh Duoc (born in 1985) returned to his shop on Lam Quang Ky Street, Vinh Lac Ward, Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province (now Rach Gia Ward, An Giang Province) and discovered signs of a break-in.
Upon checking, he discovered that 17kg of various types of dried squid (worth over 15 million VND) were missing, so he reported it to the police. Through investigation, the police quickly identified and summoned Nguyen Quoc Thinh to the station for questioning.
Initially, Thinh confessed that upon discovering that Mr. Duoc's shop was locked and unattended, he decided to break in and steal property. On the afternoon of January 31, 2025, Thinh brought a hacksaw to Mr. Duoc's shop, cut the iron frame, and then broke into the shop to steal the ink, which he gave to a friend (whose identity is unknown) to sell and share the money for their expenses.
On March 31, 2025, the Investigation Police Department of Kien Giang Province (now An Giang Province Police) issued a decision to prosecute, a travel ban, and a temporary travel ban against Nguyen Quoc Thinh. However, Thinh fled the area.
The An Giang Provincial Police Department requests that anyone has the right to apprehend and immediately bring Nguyen Quoc Thinh to the nearest police station, prosecutor's office, or People's Committee. After apprehending or receiving the wanted person, please immediately notify the Criminal Investigation Department of the An Giang Provincial Police (address: 507 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Rach Gia Ward, An Giang Province.
