Xuan Bac was named for the first time by coach Kim Sang-sik in the national U23 team to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Tournament.
In the context of Vietnamese football looking for new factors to continue the journey to conquer regional tournaments, Nguyen Xuan Bac has become the center of attention with his technical, skillful and very effective playing style. The player born in 2003 is wearing the U23 Vietnam shirt for the first time and is expected to "explode" at the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Tournament, taking place in Indonesia.
With his technical playing style, speed and ability to create breakthroughs, Xuan Bac is considered by experts to be an important piece in the tactical strategy of coach Kim Sang-sik. In the last First Division season, Xuan Bac scored 3 goals in 20 appearances for PVF-CAND.

Possessing many skills of a winger, when needed, Xuan Bac can still perform well as a central midfielder, a position where he can demonstrate his ability to create breakthroughs and disrupt the opponent's defense. In addition to his ability to create assists, Xuan Bac is the top free kick taker of PVF-CAND Club and has created many "super products" with his skillful left foot.
Before joining the PVF-CAND first team, Xuan Bac won the 2017 National U15 Championship, the 2018 ICC Cup (U15), the 2020 National U17 Cup, and the 2020 and 2021 National U19 Championship. The young talent also contributed to helping PVF-CAND advance to the Second Division after the 2019 season.
Xuan Bac's progress has scored points with coach Kim. During the preparation for the U23 Southeast Asian Championship, the Korean strategist called him into the U23 Vietnam squad because he highly appreciated his flexibility and adaptability in tactical schemes.
In matches against U23 Chinese Taipei and in internal friendlies, Xuan Bac is often positioned as a left winger or left striker and knows how to make the most of his dribbling and creating abilities. In particular, Xuan Bac's long-range shots from his left foot are considered a "secret weapon" that can change the outcome of a match.
Despite his great potential, Xuan Bac still needs to improve his stability and ability to coordinate with his teammates. The pressure of competing in the Southeast Asian tournament is also a big challenge for a young player. However, with the guidance of coach Kim Sang-sik and the support of his teammates, Xuan Bac is expected to contribute to helping U23 Vietnam defend the U23 Southeast Asian championship.
Vietnam U23 will begin their journey to defend the title of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship with the opening match of the group stage against Laos U23 at 5:00 p.m. on July 19.
