Reportedly, Google has submitted the Android 15 code to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) but has not yet released it to supported Pixel phones.
On August 27, 2024, Google changed the release notes for the Android Beta Exit update provided to devices not participating in the Android beta program. The notes stated that users waiting for the stable update of the Android 15 operating system should "skip the OTA downgrade until Android 15 is ready in October."
And a recent report reveals that the over-the-air Android 15 update for Pixel devices will roll out on October 15th. The update will be available for Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Google Pixel tablets, Pixel Fold foldable phones, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 8a.
In addition, Android 15 will also be rolled out to the new Pixel 9 devices launched in August. These phones all come pre-installed with Android 14 and will receive Android 15 on October 15th, like other supported phones.
