NDO - In order to look back at the great contributions of the press to the revolutionary cause through historical stages, on the afternoon of May 30, the National Scientific Conference "100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press accompanying the glorious cause of the Party and the nation" took place in the capital Hanoi.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission spoke at the Workshop.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, commented that the press has truthfully and vividly reflected social life in all regions of the country.

Comrade Nguyen Van Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism attended and chaired the Workshop.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association attended and chaired the Workshop.

Comrade Ta Ngoc Tan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council shared at the event.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Dinh Phong, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics spoke at the Workshop.

Journalist Tran Mai Huong, former General Director of Vietnam News Agency, shares memories of his time as a war correspondent.

Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen The Ky, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council presented a paper: "Building and developing a professional, modern, and humane Vietnamese revolutionary press to meet the requirements and tasks in the new period".

Associate Professor, Dr. Do Chi Nghia, full-time member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society, presented a paper on "Social criticism by the press to create consensus".
