A day after winning the singing contest with over 45% of the votes, Anh Tu said he was still filled with happiness. The singer considered himself lucky because he did not initially set a goal of winning the championship, but gradually won over the audience, advanced to the next round, and surpassed famous singer Huong Lan and singer Orange in the final.

For Anh Tu, the gold cup is a proud milestone in his 20 years of career . His passion for singing was nurtured in him when he was a boy of over 10 years old. At that time, his whole family worked in wedding planning in his hometown of Thai Binh , his father was the master of ceremonies, his brother played the guitar, and his mother took photos. Thanks to everyone's encouragement, Anh Tu gradually became bold enough to step onto the wedding stages.
Singing with his parents helped him earn extra income for his family and develop his artistic talent. Every night, he would sit by the radio, turn on tapes to listen to songs by Nhat Tinh Anh, Ung Hoang Phuc and many other famous singers at that time. Anh Tu also registered for singing competitions for cultural families in the district and province and continuously won prizes. "My childhood was difficult but full of love from my relatives," he said. When he was in high school, when he wanted to pursue a professional career, Anh Tu was opposed by his mother, who thought that singing was a "lowly profession". Not wanting to displease his mother, he diligently studied Math, Physics, Chemistry, and was admitted to the Information Technology Department of Hanoi University of Industry. During the days of studying coding in the lecture hall, Anh Tu realized that this was not the person he always wanted to be. "I told my parents, the stage is where I belong, it is the oxygen I breathe every day", he recalled. Anh Tu asked his family to retake the exam to Hanoi College of Arts and was accepted.
Seizing the opportunity, after graduating and working in Hanoi for a while, he moved to the South to start a career. The first milestone came to Anh Tu when he registered for The Voice 2017 , joining coach Dong Nhi's team. At that time, Anh Tu's parents did not know that their son wanted to pursue pop music, only imagining that he would wear a suit and sing chamber music confidently. Turning on the TV, the singer's father was shocked to see his son with dyed white hair, dancing hip hop to the performance Love 5 on The Voice stage. That year, Anh Tu won the runner-up prize, but his greatest achievement was that his family accepted and respected his passion.
From the singing contest, Anh Tu quickly became successful with his first hit song "Is Your Life Okay" (Vuong Anh Tu) - more than 180 million views on YouTube. His participation in the TV shows "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring" and "Rap Viet" (as a supporting singer) helped introduce to the audience the image of a singer with a bright face, high-pitched voice and "singing with all his life" - as he jokingly said about himself.
Participating in The Masked Singer 2023 , Anh Tu attracted attention from the first round in the mascot Voi Ban Don. His performance Ngay mai nguoi ta la chong (Dong Thien Duc) is one of the most shared hits of the competition, reaching 13 million views on YouTube. He is also one of the contestants with the most stable performance in the program, always in the safe group, only entering the danger zone once.
Anh Tu's performances have reached a total of 350 million views on social media platforms. "When I heard MC Tran Thanh say that number, I was overwhelmed, I didn't think I would be loved so much," he said.
The 31-year-old singer said that his success, in addition to his own efforts, also comes from his family and teachers. From being opposed, Anh Tu's every step has always been supported by his parents. On the final night, his parents and relatives from Thai Binh came to Ho Chi Minh City to watch him perform.
Anh Tu's older brother, who is two years older, also has a big influence on the singer's life. He once passed the entrance exam to art school but at the last minute decided not to study to stay home, follow the family business, and give his younger brother the opportunity to sing. "I know I am a small pride of my family, because every time I come home and tell them about this and that, my parents smile brightly," the singer said.

After the final night, on his personal page, Anh Tu thanked his vocal teachers, calling them his masters, grateful for helping him "mature" in both his lifestyle and his voice. Among them, singer Ngoc Mai - the champion of the first season of Mask Singer - helped him improve his skills even though he only studied with her for five or six sessions. Thanks to artists Xuan Huong and Minh Hue, he also learned how to fully appreciate the work, that breathing is the core of singing.
The singer said he only allows himself to enjoy happiness for two hours, then starts preparing for new projects. In the near future, he will collaborate with rapper OgeNus on a product, and also record a Tet song. "I will always remember Ms. Huong Lan's words: 'You have to go further, I believe in you'," Anh Tu said.
