The "Loop Disease" issue is a hardware bug that affects the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, causing a variety of audio-related issues. Users experience significant audio degradation, loss of voice during FaceTime calls or regular calls, and the microphone may even stop working completely. This bug makes communication through the device difficult, directly affecting the user's daily experience.

The problem is believed to stem from a hardware design flaw that causes iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices to experience problems after a period of use. This flaw can affect some internal components, leading to loss of sound during calls, microphone failure, or significant loss of sound quality. Currently, there is no exact figure on the total number of devices affected by this flaw.

In 2019, Apple faced a series of lawsuits in many states in the US related to the above issue. Plaintiffs imply that Apple failed to comply with consumer protection regulations and violated warranty policies by failing to provide reasonable solutions to affected customers. This led to a lot of controversy and pressure on Apple to take action to compensate users.

By 2023, after years of facing lawsuits related to the "Loop Disease" incident on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple agreed to pay $35 million to resolve the legal dispute. However, the American technology company still affirmed that there was no misconduct in this incident, and denied allegations related to warranty and consumer protection policy violations.

According to a report from 9to5Mac, the compensation that users receive is not fixed but has significant differences. specific, many people received an amount of about $200, while some other customers were luckier and received an amount of up to $349. This compensation is determined based on factors such as the time of device ownership, the level of impact of hardware failure, and specific details related to each individual's compensation claim.

Apple is no stranger to lawsuits over technical flaws in its products, and this isn't the first time the company has had to pay out compensation to users. Previously, in 2023, Apple had to make a significant settlement related to the butterfly keyboard problem on MacBook models.

The issue causes a range of problems, including keys that are stuck, unresponsive, or simply not working after a period of use. Many users filed lawsuits, claiming that Apple had designed the keyboards substandard and had failed to provide a permanent fix. To settle the dispute, the company agreed to pay millions of dollars in compensation to affected customers, similar to the compensation it paid to iPhone 7 and 7 Plus users affected by the "Loop Disease" bug.
